Photographer captures images on a recent frigid morning

There are many things to grumble about at this time of year: frigid temperatures, snowy roads, and early sunsets, to name a few. But one can hardly argue with the beauty of the bald eagle, and this is the ideal time for sightings. A great place to catch a glimpse of the national bird of the United States is along the Iowa River, right in the heart of the University of Iowa campus.

Photographer Tim Schoon was able to capture stunning images of the raptor recently near Stanley Hydraulics Laboratory.
