The University of Iowa will begin offering programming in July 2016 in Des Moines at the property now occupied by the AIB College of Business.  President Sally Mason outlined the timeline at the Iowa Board of Regents meeting in Cedar Falls.

Mason said that after AIB finishes teaching its students in June 2016, the 20-acre campus will become the “Regents Regional Resource Center operated by the University of Iowa” and that she hopes that Iowa State University and the University of Northern Iowa will also offer courses there.

“We have heard from the business community in central Iowa, and there is a need to expand targeted programs in Des Moines,” she says.  “Starting July 1, 2016, we will be proud and pleased to address those needs and more.”

Last week AIB announced it would like to gift its campus to Iowa.  Both institutions immediately began working on a transition plan that provides individual advising and support for students as the process unfolds.
