Monday, February 9, 2015

The University of Iowa’s Hancher will present the Terell Stafford Quintet on Friday, Feb. 13, at 7 and 9:30 p.m. at The Mill in downtown Iowa City. The earlier of these two Club Hancher performances is sold out, but limited tickets remain for the later show.

Stafford, a trumpeter, will be joined by Tim Warfield on saxophone, Josh Richman on piano, Billy Williams on drums, and David Wong on bass.

During his four-day residency in Iowa City, Stafford will be working with students in Jazz Studies at the University of Iowa and with Kirkwood Community College students. He will also be the guest artist at the City High School “Night at the Jazz Showcase,” a daylong event on Saturday, Feb. 14 that includes several student jazz groups.

Stafford’s residency and performances are supported by the Hancher Partners and gifts to the Hancher Circle through the UI Foundation.

Tickets for the 9:30 performance on Feb. 13 are $20 for nonstudents and $10 for youth and college students and are available from the Hancher Box Office. Any remaining tickets will be available for sale one hour before show time at The Mill.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all UI-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, contact the Hancher Box Office in advance at 319-335-1158.
