Thomas Schierbrock (DDS ’74) received the 2014 Dental Alumnus of the Year Award from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry for his outstanding level of professional achievements, service to the community, and service to the UI and the college.

His dedication to dentistry has enhanced the profession in Iowa and helped many students attend the College of Dentistry. As an active participant in ASIST (Alumni Seeking Iowa Students)—the program that connects prospective students with Iowa alumni from their communities—Schierbrock  helped many students forge personal and professional success.

Schierbrock currently serves on the UI Dental Alumni Board. He previously served on the university’s Alumni Board (1985-1993), which he chaired for a year (1991-1992).

The award was presented at the 2014 UI Dental Alumni Association Reunion Dinner on Oct. 31.
