The University of Iowa will host members of the Iowa Legislature Nov. 13 as they explore the labs and workshops of researchers and economic development initiatives.

Sen. Liz Mathis of Robins, Sen. Rita Hart of Wheatland, Sen. Bob Dvorsky, Rep. Mary Mascher of Iowa City, and Rep. Dean Fisher of Garwin will take the “Iowa Test Drive: See, Ask, Try" tour on Thursday, Nov. 13, from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and 1 to 1:45 p.m. following a lunch break. The media are welcome to attend.

Among the activities are a visit to the university’s advanced driving simulator, its ProtoLabs 3D printer, and the Wynn Institute for Vision Research. They will also tour the newly opened Pappajohn Biodiscovery Building and meet with Dan Reed, the university’s vice president for research and economic development.
