Timelines to be presented at Sept. 10 Board of Regents meeting

Following is an update on Rising to the Next TIER, the transformation and efficiency study of Iowa’s public universities commissioned by the Iowa Board of Regents.

In preparation for the Iowa Board of Regents meeting on Sept. 10, Deloitte has released a PowerPoint presentation outlining three business cases to consider for implementation. They include:

  • Establish clear policy for the Professional and Scientific staff search committee size and structure (Business Case HR-10)
  • Create a common application portal (Business Case SS-05)
  • Standardize “manual” calculation of the Regent Admission Index (Business Case SS-08)

The Board of Regents must vote to approve implementation, but is not expected to contract with Deloitte for additional services, as these are business cases the universities can implement on their own.

At the Sept. 10 meeting, regent Larry McKibben will provide the board with a timeline for approving the remaining business cases.
