President Mason, Iowa City mayor and representatives from Balfour Beatty Investments will be on hand

WHAT: A ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the Aspire at West Campus, a new on-campus living community for graduate students and their families at the University of Iowa. There will be an open-house tour as well.

The fully leased Aspire at West Campus consists of five, three-story buildings totaling 270 one bedroom/one bathroom, two bedroom/one bathroom, and two bedroom/two bathroom apartment styles. ADA accessible units are provided and multiple apartments are designated for resident assistants. All apartments feature modern kitchens equipped with energy efficient appliances, open floor plans, and rent includes cable TV, Wi-Fi, water, sewer, trash and recycling pick-up.

A separate one-story, 5,400-square-foot community center will house the property management offices and includes a fitness center, laundry facility, and multipurpose space. On the community grounds, there are walking/biking trails and open green space for recreational activities as well free on-site parking and a bus stop.

The $31 million development project comes through a public-private partnership.
