There will be changes in traffic flow on Clinton Street in downtown Iowa City this week to accommodate first-year students moving into residence halls at the University of Iowa.

Clinton Street will be open only for one-way, southbound traffic, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 20 and 21. The route change takes effect on Clinton Street from the corner of Church and Dubuque streets to Bloomington Street. The west side of Clinton will be for through traffic, while the east side will be for unloading. The parking meters will be suspended during this time.

Nearly 2,000 first-year students are expected to arrive each day in the area.
