Coon Rapids, Iowa native Dora Grote describes her reasons for coming to the University of Iowa and the rigorous training she's received in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication under the guidance of faculty like Pulitzer-prize winning journalist Stephen Berry.

Grote is the recipient of a 2014 Rhodes Dunlap Scholarship for Third Year Students, established at the bequest of the UI Honors Program founder to recognize the most promising scholars in their third year of undergraduate study.
