WHAT: The University of Iowa College of Education and Tippie College of Business will host a select group of Iowa school executives to engage in dialogue about the current and future state of school leadership.

WHO: Superintendents from across Iowa will attend the event. Keynote addresses will come from Associate Superintendent of Cedar Rapids Schools Mary Ellen Maske, a UI Educational Leadership alumna who was named the 2014 Iowa Central Office Administrator of the Year by the School Administrators of Iowa; and Pat Neudecker, recent president of the American Association of School Administrators.

WHEN AND WHERE: Thursday, June 12, from 3 to 8:30 p.m.

Highlights will include opening remarks from UI President Sally Mason, a 4-4:30 p.m. dialogue, “Strengthening Partnerships between the University and Iowa’s Schools,” and Neudecker’s keynote address, “Current State and Future of the Superintendency,” from 4:30 to 5:20 p.m.

These activities will take place in the College of Education’s Teacher Leader Center, 140 Lindquist Center North. To see a map, visit here.

Maske’s presentation, “Instructional Leadership: A Central Focus for Today’s Superintendent and Team,” as well as a discussion of connecting Iowa’s schools with the business world will take place between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. at Hotel Vetro in downtown Iowa City.
