Composers Workshop concert to spotlight students' work

The University of Iowa Center for New Music will present Composers Workshop, a free concert featuring the work of composition students in the UI School of Music, at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 27, in Riverside Recital Hall on the UI campus.

The program will feature:

• Ex-Con for two marimbas by Justin Comer
• HarpMusic by Will Huff

David Gompper

The Center for New Music, a performance organization devoted to the late 20th and early 21st century repertoire, is the focus of contemporary composition and performance at the UI. The center, directed by David Gompper, functions as a laboratory and performance extension of the school’s composition area, and as a repertory ensemble for the creation and presentation of new music in general.
