Open meeting invites ideas and engagement
Friday, March 21, 2014

An Iowa Board of Regents’ Efficiency and Transformation Review Town Hall meeting with regents’ President Bruce Rastetter, Regent Larry McKibben, UI President Sally Mason, and representatives from Deloitte Consulting LLP will be held Friday, March 28.

The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in 100 Phillips Hall. All members of the UI community are welcome to participate.

Mason will open the meeting and introduce the regents for remarks. The Deloitte team will outline the review timeline, process, and outputs, then open the meeting to questions.

“This meeting is an early step in an open, transparent, and inclusive review process,” Mason says. “We want our entire community—including faculty, staff, and students—to be engaged and involved.”

The Efficiency and Transformation Review will consider all academic and administrative areas at each of Iowa’s public universities, as well as the regents’ system as a whole. Any savings identified will be reinvested back into the universities’ core missions.

“Iowa’s universities are strong, and this process promises to make them stronger,” Mason says. “We’re seeking creative ideas from everyone who wants to ensure our universities thrive for generations to come.”
