The Doc Dash is a 5K fun-run/walk set for 9 a.m. Saturday, April 5. The event benefits the Iowa City Free Medical Clinic and the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine Mobile Clinic and is open to all members of the community.

Participants are asked to pre-register for the event at SignMeUp.com. Registration is $20 if completed by March 30 and $25 after March 30. Those unable to pre-register can do so the day of the race, but must be on-site by 8 a.m. Race-day registration is $30. Children 14 and under may participate for free.

Registration fees include registration and race number. Participants can add $7.50 for a T-shirt . Shirts can only be guaranteed if registration is completed by March 25. Children 14 and under are free.

A children's fun-run, the Doc-ling Dash, was added this year and will start at 8:40 a.m. Free childcare with health care-related activities will follow the fun-run so parents may run the 5K.

This event is being sponsored by STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Education Programs) and the Johnson County Medical Society (JCMS). Registration for the Doc-ling Dash is free. You may add $7.50 for a youth-sized T-shirt. Shirts can only be guaranteed if registration is completed by March 25.

Prizes will be awarded to winners, courtesy of Running Wild, and trophies will be awarded for best CCOM community participation and UI Health Care department participation including physicians and support staff alike.
