The University of Iowa men's gymnastics team has returned to action after recording its best finish at the NCAA Championships a year ago.

Fourth-year head coach JD Reive led the Hawkeyes to a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championships in 2013 and has his team ranked eighth in the preseason polls this year. Iowa opened the 2014 season on Jan. 18 at the Windy City Invitational in Chicago and will travel to Oklahoma to face the Sooners on Feb. 1 before hosting back-to-back events inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Friday, Feb. 7 (vs. Illinois, 7 p.m.) and Saturday, Feb. 15 (vs. Minnesota and Nebraska, noon). The two meets will be Iowa's only home events of the 2014 season.
