Annual tuba/euphonium performance on Old Capitol steps brings good cheer to campus
Monday, December 16, 2013

The notes played on the Old Capitol steps on Friday, Dec. 13, were low, but don't misconstrue that as criticism. "Holiday Tubas," the annual concert performed with the help of Collegium Tubum, the UI’s tuba and euphonium ensemble, brought seasonal cheer to the audience gathered on the Pentacrest.

UI School of Music Professor John Manning, dressed as Santa Claus, led the ensemble through a number of holiday classics. The event also served as a collection point for Toys for Tots; several people brought new, unwrapped toys for distribution.

The School of Music is part of the Division of Performing Arts in the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
