Collegium Tubum and Santa will be at Old Capitol Museum
Friday, December 6, 2013

Santa will be bringing the sounds of the season to the University of Iowa Pentacrest with the help of Collegium Tubum, the UI’s tuba and euphonium ensemble. The group will hold its annual Holiday Tubas concert on the steps of the Old Capitol Museum from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13. Toys for Tots will be collecting new, unwrapped toys.

UI School of Music Professor John Manning will be dressed as Santa Claus to lead the ensemble through a number of holiday classics. Any tuba, sousaphone, euphonium, or baritone players who wish to perform are encouraged to join the group. Cider and cookies will be served inside the museum following the concert. The School of Music is part of the Division of Performing Arts in the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all UI-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to attend this event, contact the Old Capitol Museum in advance at 319-335-0548 or email old-capitol-museum@uiowa.edu.
