UI chemistry scholars to present at Nov. 8 Geneva Forum event
Monday, November 4, 2013

Chemistry and physics are central scientific disciplines that help us understand the "how" of almost everything.

As part of the Geneva Forum: Pursuing the Good, the True, and the Beautiful, Christopher Cheatum, UI associate professor of chemistry, and John Humston, UI doctoral student in chemistry, will present “How Does that Work? A Brief Tour of the World Through the Eyes of a Chemist” from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, in the Ohio State Room (343) of the Iowa Memorial Union.

In the talk, the two will share their passion for understanding how things work and how a few concepts from chemistry and physics can help us understand some beautiful parts of our world. The event is free and open to the public.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all UI-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to attend this lecture, call Ed Laarman in advance at 319-341-0007.

The Geneva Forum is sponsored by Geneva Campus Ministry and meets once a month during the regular school year. Christian faculty, staff, and students share their delight in “the beautiful, the true, and the good” in their various fields of study.
