Chicago business leader, world traveler, and UI alumnus Andrew Code will return to the UI campus to reflect on leadership, faith, and putting love into action through business or whatever one’s work may be. His talk, “The Purpose-Driven Career,” will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, in Room W151 of Pappajohn Business Building. The event, presented by the Geneva Lecture Series, is free and open to the public.

Code, who has a Bachelor of Arts and an Master of Business Administration from Iowa, is a founder and partner of Promus Capital and Promus Equity Partners. Prior to Promus, he was a founder and partner for 24 years at CHS Capital, a $2.6 billion private equity fund. Prior to founding CHS, Code was a vice president with Citicorp’s Leveraged Capital Group in Chicago.

Code also is president of the Code Family Foundation, is a founder and chair of Chicago Fellowship, and serves on several boards, including the University of Iowa Foundation Board and the Foundation Investment Committee, which he will chair in 2014.

Founded in 1976, the Geneva Lecture Series aims to demonstrate the continuing relevance of the Judeo-Christian message to the life of the mind. To date, more than 70 nationally and internationally renowned speakers have been invited to speak on the UI campus.
