Award-winning author Tracie McMillan to visit the UI

Tracie McMillan

Author and investigative journalist Tracie McMillan will visit the University of Iowa on Wednesday, Oct. 16 to lead discussion and read from her book The American Way of Eating: Undercover at Walmart, Applebee’s, Farm Fields and the Dinner Table.

McMillan’s award winning work combines immersive reporting with established research to argue for the widespread availability of fresh, affordable produce.

A native of rural Michigan, McMillan is a sought-after lecturer who has made appearances on a number of television and radio programs, including the Rachel Maddow Show and the Peter Schiff Show.

• A public reading and discussion, 7 p.m., Congregational United Church, 30 North Clinton St. in Iowa City
