Poets Chris Bolin, Nathan Hoks, and Roger Reeves will read from their work at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, in a free reading at Prairie Lights Books in downtown Iowa City. The reading also will be streamed live on the University of Iowa Writing University website.

Bolin, who received an Master of Fine Arts from the UI, will read from The Tally, his collection published by the UI Press. Bolin is on the faculty at the College of Saint Benedict/Saint John’s University in Minnesota. He has published poems in Jubilat, Lana Turner, 1913, VOLT, and Post Road.

Hoks will read from The Narrow Circle. He is the author of Reveilles, which won Salt Publishing’s Crashaw Prize in 2010. His poems and translations have appeared in Crazyhorse, Lit, Circumference, and Verse.

Reeves will read from King Me. His poems have appeared in journals such as Poetry, Ploughshares, American Poetry Review, Boston Review, and Tin House, among others.

The Iowa Writers’ Workshop is a graduate program in the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
