Uriel Tsachor

The University of Iowa School of Music will present a faculty recital by Uriel Tsachor at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, in Riverside Recital Hall on the UI campus. The performance is free and open to the public.

The program will feature the following works:

Frédéric Chopin

  • Polonaise in C sharp Minor op. 26/1
  • Polonaise in E flat Minor, op. 26/2
  • Nocturne in B Major op. 9/3
  • Ballade no. 2, op. 38
  • Three Etudes: F Minor, op. 10/9; E flat minor, op. 10/6; C Minor, op. 25/12)

Robert Schumann

  • Blumenstück op. 19
  • Faschingsschwank aus Wien op. 26: Allegro (Sehr Lebhaft); Romanze (Ziemlich Langsam); Scherzino; Intermezzo (Mit Größter Energie); Finale (Höchst Lebhaft)

An active concert pianist and Steinway Artist, Tsachor has appeared in recitals in major venues in Europe, Asia, and the United States. He was invited by Zubin Mehta to perform with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and played more than 25 different concerti with major orchestras in Europe, Israel, and the United States. Winner of the Queen Elisabeth and Busoni competitions, Tsachor is a graduate of the Juilliard School where he earned his doctorate. Tsachor's discography encompasses 23 releases for the EMI, Discover, and Divox labels. He has presented master classes in the U.S., Europe, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

The School of Music is part of the Division of Performing Arts in the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
