Pulitzer Prize winner and former Writers’ Workshop graduate and instructor Paul Harding will read from his new novel, Enon, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, in a free reading at Prairie Lights Books in downtown Iowa City. The reading also will be streamed live on the University of Iowa Writing University website.

Enon is the story of Charlie, grandson of Tinkers’ protagonist George Crosby. Publishers Weekly’s starred review says of Enon, “Drawing upon the same New England landscape and family as Tinkers, Harding deftly captures loss and its consequences in this gorgeous and haunting follow-up. Harding again proves himself a contemporary master and one of our most important writers.”

Harding’s Tinkers was the winner of the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. He has received a Guggenheim and the PEN/Robert Bingham Fellowship for Writers. He was a fiction fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Mass., and has taught at Harvard University and Grinnell College.

The Iowa Writers’ Workshop is a graduate program in the University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
