Hawkeye Football media day brings many questions, no final answer on starting quarterback
Friday, August 9, 2013

Reporters from all over eastern Iowa came to Carver-Hawkeye Arena and the football practice field for an opportunity to interview the new assistant coaches and players at the University of Iowa at the 2013 Iowa Football Media Day Thursday, Aug. 8. With myriad staff changes, many were anxious for a word with the new coaches. New to the coaching lineup are receivers coach Bobby Kennedy, linebackers coach Jim Reid, and running backs and special teams coach Chris White.

The million dollar question: who will be Iowa's next starting quarterback? Sophomore Jake Rudock, junior Cody Sokol, and red shirt freshman C.J. Beathard are the three candidates. Head coach Kirk Ferentz and Offensive Coordinator Greg Davis spoke more to the similarities of the three than differences. The official word is that it's too early to tell.
