Nothing beats a football weekend in Iowa City—especially when it’s free. For the third consecutive year of its popular Football Weekend Giveaway, the UI Alumni Association (UIAA) is offering the chance to win two tickets to the Nov. 2 Iowa vs. Wisconsin game.

The contest begins today, July 29, and runs through Oct. 6; entry is open to the public. To enter the drawing, simply “Like” the UIAA’s Facebook page and submit the contest entry form; for optional bonus entries, “follow” the UIAA on Instagram and submit a photo showing Hawkeye pride with #onceahawkeye in the caption.

How to Enter

Go to www.facebook.com/UIowaAlumni and click the “Like” button at the top of the UIAA Facebook page to gain access to the contest form. If you’ve already “Liked” the UIAA, just look for the Football Weekend Giveaway contest tab under the UIAA cover photo.

For optional bonus entries: go to instagram.com/uiowaalumni and click the “follow” button at the top of the page, and submit a photo showing Hawkeye pride with #onceahawkeye in the caption.

In addition to the two outdoor club seat tickets, the grand prize includes a two-night stay at the Iowa House Hotel, two tickets to the UIAA pregame tailgate, and a $100 gift certificate to Formosa restaurant in downtown Iowa City.

All UIAA members who enter the drawing will automatically be placed into a separate contest to win a $250 Hawk Shop gift certificate.

Participants can enter once a day on both social networks, so visiting the UIAA sites often will increase chances to win. Winners of the grand prize and the member-exclusive prize will be chosen randomly, notified on Monday, Oct. 7, and announced on the UIAA Facebook page.

The competition is part of the UIAA’s growing social media efforts to raise awareness of its work, build engagement with members, and create fun and excitement within the Hawkeye community.

“Each year, the giveaway prizes get bigger and better,” says Karen McCort, the UIAA’s digital communications manager. “We just love rewarding loyal Hawkeyes.”
