Now that spring has sprung and summer seems like a sure thing after all, the urge to hit the road for a day trip grows stronger. Many of us have a favorite haunt that’s within a reasonable drive—the ice caves of Decorah, perhaps, or the sharp turns of Burlington’s Snake Alley.
