The U.S. Corps of Engineers plans to increase the outflow of water from the Coralville Reservoir to 10,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) today, and increase the outflow to 12,000 cfs Thursday, in an effort to keep the reservoir’s water levels below the top of the 712 foot spillway. An additional 2-4 inches of rain is predicted for the area Thursday and Friday, which could significantly raise the level of the Iowa River through Iowa City.
