No Fish in the House, written by Tom Willmorth and directed by UI theatre arts faculty member Paul Kalina, is a madcap comedy in the lunatic Italian tradition of the Commedia dell’arte. Follow the Commedia De Lazzi players, led by legendary dramatist Tony Bologna, as they rehearse their new play, No Fish in the House, only to discover “there’s no fish!” Filled with slapstick humor, impromptu operations, and flying tiger sponges, No Fish in the House is a fun-filled romp for the whole family. Willmorth’s play was created for a young audience, but has delighted children and adults alike.

The comic romp features four professional actors who play a variety of roles while wearing leather masks in the Commedia dell’arte style. The actors perform onstage as well as in the aisles, interacting with the audience and getting the children involved and taking an active role in the show. Numerous fun props are also used to help tell the fishy story.
