University of Iowa student Tyler Finchum was honored for his business Farm Manuals Fast at the 2013 Prometheus Awards April 11 in Des Moines.

Farm Manuals Fast sells operator and other owner manuals via the web for various types of farm equipment made by more than 20 companies. Finchum, who grew up on a farm near Muscatine, started the business while still in high school when he realized that most farm equipment manufacturers don’t sell copies of their manuals.

Now a sophomore at UI, Finchum’s business is based at the UI’s student business incubator, the Bedell Entrepreneurship Learning Laboratory.

The Prometheus Awards are sponsored by the Technology Association of Iowa and honor companies and individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership and excellence in Iowa’s technology industry.
