William Kent Krueger will read from the New York Times best-seller Trickster’s Point at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, in a free reading at Prairie Lights Books in downtown Iowa City. The reading also will be streamed live on the University of Iowa Writing University website.

Krueger writes a mystery series set in the north woods of Minnesota; Trickster’s Point is the most recent installment published to date. His protagonist is Cork O’Connor, the former sheriff of Tamarack County and a man of mixed heritage—part Irish and part Ojibwe. The 13th book in the Cork O'Connor series, Tamarack County, is scheduled for release in August.

Krueger’s work has received a number of awards, including the Minnesota Book Award, the Loft-McKnight Fiction Award, the Anthony Award, the Barry Award, and the Friends of American Writers Prize.
