University of Iowa chefs got to show their stuff on Feb. 21 at the return of Lunch with the Chefs, this time honoring a Midwestern culinary icon.
Hosted by University Catering—part of University Housing and Dining—the three-course menu was a tribute to the late Louis Szathmary, who donated some 15,000 cookbooks to University Libraries and frequently visited campus to share his experience with UI chefs.
Advance tickets for the event sold out fast. Guests dined on canapés, roasted duck blintzes, wild mushroom custard, eclairs, strawberry tarts, and more.
