Are you ready to groove? The next free concert in the Arts Share/Community Foundation of Johnson County series will provide just the opportunity.

“Groovin’ With Iowa Percussion,” led by University of Iowa School of Music faculty member Dan Moore, will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, in Riverside Recital Hall on the UI campus. The UI ensemble will perform plenty of groove pieces, and Moore and the musicians will talk about what it means to groove.

The concert series, supported in part by the Community Foundation of Johnson County, consists of family-friendly shows that are free and open to the public.

Arts Share continues the UI’s long tradition of sharing creative resources from the Division of Performing Arts (music, dance, theatre arts), the School of Art and Art History, and the Iowa Writers' Workshop. Its goal is to strengthen the arts in underserved areas, reaching out to provide access to life-enriching arts experiences throughout Iowa.

Arts Share is part of the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and also receives support from the UI Graduate College.
