Davy Rothbart

FOUND magazine editor/publisher Davy Rothbart will read from his collection of essays, My Heart Is an Idiot, at 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 12, in a free reading at Prairie Lights Books in downtown Iowa City. The reading also will be streamed live on the University of Iowa Writing University website.

Rothbart's magazine is dedicated to discarded notes, letters, fliers, photos, lists, and drawings found and sent in by readers. A second collection was published in May 2006, a third in May 2009. The magazine is published annually.

Rothbart contributes to This American Life, and also writes for GQ, The Believer, SLAM Magazine, Maxim, Polite, and The Sun, and has a recurring column on Grantland. Rothbart is also the subject of a documentary, directed by David Meiklejohn, also called My Heart Is an Idiot.
