The second of Hancher’s four designated 40th anniversary events is sold out.

The University of Iowa’s performing arts presenter will present Pilobolus Dance Theatreat 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13 and 14 in Space Place Theater on the UI campus.

This will be the company’s eighth Hancher appearance. Since its first appearance in 1975, Pilobolus has performed for 19,810 people under Hancher’s auspices. These 40th anniversary performances, however, will be the most intimate the company has ever performed in Iowa City because Space Place seats fewer than 250 people.

Remaining 40th anniversary events include Sonny Rollins (April 2), and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band (June 15).

The performances by Pilobolus Dance Theatre are supported by John and Sue Strauss, the Hancher Partners, and gifts to Hancher Circle through the UI Foundation.
