The University of Iowa’s Tippie School of Management will offer another Executive MBA (EMBA) class in downtown Des Moines, following up on the success of the first.

The next accelerated Executive MBA program will begin January 2014 with graduation in December 2015. This is the only Executive MBA program offered in the Des Moines metropolitan area.

The current EMBA class in Des Moines is comprised of students mostly from the central Iowa region, but there are a few who commute from as far as Omaha, Milwaukee, and Peoria, Ill. Participants range from physicians and entrepreneurs, to leaders in companies such as Abbot Labs, Deere & Co., Microsoft, IBM, Emerson, Henry Schein, Iowa Realty, and Country Maid.

“This full-service program caters to the needs of business leaders so they can focus on their families, professional commitments and course work,” says Jay Sa-Aadu, associate dean of the Tippie College of Business. “Our students also work with highly qualified and engaging classmates who share valuable insights and knowledge to enhance the overall learning experience.”

The EMBA program provides experienced professionals the opportunity to earn an MBA while continuing to work full-time. The content of the Executive MBA program draws from relevant business topics such as economics, finance, management, strategic operations, leadership, negotiations, marketing, and accounting.

Classes will be held on Fridays and Saturdays every-other weekend in downtown Des Moines at the John and Mary Pappajohn Educational Center, 2100 Grand Ave. Interested students should visit tippie.uiowa.edu/execmba/ for more information.
