Numerous musicians will join the Iowa Brass Quintet for a concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, in the University Capitol Centre Recital Hall. The performance is free and the public is welcome.

The program will feature a collection of 16th century music by various composers, arranged by John Glasel; Brass Quintetby Arthur Frackenpohl; Gagarará by Brian Martinez; Dimitri Shostakovich’s Jazz Suite No. 1; Karel Husa’sDivertimento; and Vuelta del Fuego (Ride of Fire) by Kevin McKee.

The quintet—Laura Saylor and Amy Schendel (trumpet), Jeffrey Agrell (horn), David Gier (trombone), and John Manning (tuba)—will be assisted by Meagan Conley and Caitlin Elliott (trumpet), James Naigus (horn), University of Iowa School of Music lecturer Jonathan Allen and Jessica DuCharme (trombone), and UI percussion professor Dan Moore and Andrew Thierauf (percussion).
