The University of Iowa Center for New Music will present a Composers Workshop, with a free concert slated for 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28, in Riverside Recital Hall on the UI campus.

The program features the work of UI doctoral and master’s students. The selections for the evening are:

  • “Sounds of Night” by Leonid Iogansen
  • “Eastern Feast,” duet for violin and viola, by Nima Hamidi (1984)
  • “A Divisive Dichotomy” by Will Huff
  • “ismriy,” for flute and electronics, by Daniel Frantz
  • “Elephant” by Justin Comer
  • “Fourth Stream Chronologies” by Matt Smart

The Center for New Music, a performance organization devoted to the late 20th and early 21st century repertoire, is the focus of contemporary composition and performance at the UI.
