Carter Biggers

Carter Biggers, Doctor of Musical Arts candidate in band conducting in the University of Iowa School of Music, will present a free Chamber Winds recital at 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 4, in Riverside Recital Hall on the UI campus.

Biggers will conduct the ensemble through Wiener Philharmoniker Fanfare by Richard Strauss, Serenade No. 12 in C minor, K. 388/384a by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Little Threepenny Music by Kurt Weill.

Biggers is a student of Mark Heidel, director of bands in the UI School of Music. Prior to coming to the UI, he taught high school and junior-high school band for seven years in Texas, where his students and ensembles consistently received top ratings at local and state contests.
