The University of Iowa Department of Theatre Arts will launch its 2012-13 Gallery series with Fields Below, written by theater and cinema student Levi Smith and directed by Morgan Miller, at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, in Theatre B of the UI Theatre Building.

In the wake of their father’s funeral, debt-ridden millennial 20-somethings Mitchell and Meaghan Turner have discovered a clue in their dad’s suicide note to a hidden sum of money stashed away somewhere in his extremely overstuffed home office.

A series of clues left behind guides them, but painful lingering memories stand between them and finding $12,000 in this mysterious new comic drama about sibling rivalry and the fear all children have of ultimately turning into their parents.

Admission is free to UI students with a valid UI ID, and $5 for everyone else.

The Department of Theatre Arts is a unit of the Division of Performing Arts in the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. For accommodations contact the department at 319-335-2700. For a UI arts calendar and details about upcoming events, visit the new Arts Iowa website.
