Businesses may be in a hiring mood if the numbers at this month’s University of Iowa fall job and internship fair are any indication.

The annual fair, to be held in the Iowa Memorial Union Thursday, Sept. 20, will have representatives from 140 employers collecting resumes and recruiting prospective new employees and interns from among the university’s undergraduate ranks. That number is the highest in several years, and an increase from the 130 employers that attended last spring’s job fair.

The fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Main Lounge and Sun Room of the Iowa Memorial Union and is sponsored by the university’s Pomerantz Career Center. Among the employers that will be in attendance are Cerner Corporation, IBM, John Deere, JPMorgan Chase, Panda Restaurant Group, Perceptive Software, Principal Financial Group, and Wells Fargo.

More information about the fair, including a full list of participating employers, is online at www.careers.uiowa.edu/fairs/fallfair2012.html.
