Lauren Hughes will explore ways to improve health and health care

Lauren Hughes, M.D., a 2009 graduate of the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, has been selected as a 2013 Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholar.

Through the program, Hughes will learn to conduct innovative research and work with communities, organizations, practitioners, and policy-makers in order to take a leadership role in improving health and health care in the U.S.

Hughes, a native of Iowa, will begin her fellowship at the University of Michigan this fall.

The 27 exceptional young physicians in the program will spend two years examining the delivery, impact, and organization of health care.
