The Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine will hold its annual memorial service for the Deeded Body Program at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at Oakland Cemetery, 1000 Brown St., Iowa City.

The service honors those whose donated bodies aided in the advancement of medical education and science at the UI through studies completed during the past year.

Students who benefited from the donated bodies will participate in the service. Mary Kay Kusner, chaplain of the Palliative Care Program at UI Hospitals and Clinics, and John Engelhardt, Ph.D., professor and head of anatomy and cell biology, will also deliver remarks.

In case of inclement weather, the memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. in St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 1300 Melrose Ave., Iowa City.
