UI volunteers share football posters, Tiger Hawk tattoos, and Hawkeye hospitality
Friday, July 20, 2012

More than 100 volunteers—faculty, staff, students, alumni, and just Hawk fans—will play a major role in the University of Iowa’s booth at the Iowa State Fair Thursday, Aug. 9 through Sunday, Aug. 19.

They’ll be involved in giving away more than 50,000 football posters and 48,000 Tiger Hawk tattoos. And that’s not to mention all of the UI staffers who will be on hand for the 16 departments and organizations scheduled to have special displays over the course of the fair.

A few more volunteers are needed to fill out the 4-hour shifts, however. The biggest needs are for the 5-9 shifts on Monday, Aug. 13, and Sunday, Aug. 19. A few more volunteers are also needed on Aug. 12-15.

If you’re interested, please go to the UI State Fair website, especially the volunteer sign-up page. Volunteers receive a free fair admission pass, parking pass, and Hawkeye t-shirt.
