Rec Services and Hawkeye Community Rowing offer camps, clinics, and open house
Wednesday, June 6, 2012

University of Iowa Recreational Services is offering rowing camps and clinics throughout the summer.

Whether attending a weekend clinic or a week-long camp, participants will have the opportunity to use rowing machines, an indoor rowing tank, and racing shells to enhance their rowing experience. Participants will learn rowing technique, boat handling, rowing safety, and teamwork. Anyone age 12 or older is welcome.

Registration is $80 for members, $85 for nonmembers.

More details, including a list of rowing FAQs, full camp and clinic listings, and a registration form are available online at recserv.uiowa.edu/Apps/Programs/Rowing.aspx#learn.

Those who are curious about rowing also may be interested in attending a summer rowing open house with Hawkeye Community Rowing from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, at the Beckwith Boathouse. Free one-hour rowing lessons will be held every hour starting on the hour. Pre-registration is not required, but space is limited and minors must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver to participate.
