Violinist Scott Conklin, a faculty member in the University of Iowa School of Music, will be joined by pianists Jason Sifford and faculty colleague Alan Huckleberry in a free recital at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, in the University Capitol Center’s School of Music Recital Hall.

The program will be: The Hope Moment by Ching-chu Hu; Sueños de Chambi: Snapshots for an Andean Album by Gabriela Lena Frank; Infinite Morning by Joel Puckett; Conklin's transcription of Waitin' by William Bolcom and Arnold Weinstein; The Fire Hose Reel by Evan Chambers; The Fisherman's Song by Chen Yi; and Passages by Ethan Wickman.

Conklin and Huckleberry collaborated on the critically acclaimed CD "Violinguistics: American Voices," including works on this recital program, and the duo toured Germany last year. Conklin has also recorded other works by both Ching-Chu Hu and Joel Puckett, who have written works for Conklin and dedicated them to him.
