Free events are May 29 through June 1

The Iowa Piccolo Intensive, a concentrated series of master classes, exhibits, and presentations hosted by University of Iowa School of Music faculty member Nicole Esposito, will feature free, public recitals May 29 through June 1.

Esposito will perform with bassoonist Benjamin Coehlo, also a UI School of Music faculty member, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, in the University Capitol Centre Recital Hall.

Guest artists Zart Dombourian-Eby, solo piccolo in the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, and Matjaz Debeljak, solo piccolo in the Slovenian National Theatre and Opera, will share a recital at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, in the Riverside Recital Hall.

Nicola Mazzanti, solo piccolo of the Maggio Muscale Florentino orchestra in Italy, will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 31 in the Riverside Recital Hall.

And the Iowa Piccolo Intensive will conclude with a Gala Recital at 6 p.m. Friday, June 1, in the Riverside Recital Hall.

Accompanist for the concerts will be English pianist Timothy Carey, the regular pianist of the Flutewise series in England.
