Celebrate the conclusion of "Just Do(t) Art," a community art project at the University of Iowa Museum of Art’s (UIMA) May First Friday reception, 5 to 7 p.m., May 4, at the hotelVetro in downtown Iowa City. For $5, watch the last dot be placed and view the installation in its final form.

This month-long, community-based collaborative art installation is open for public participation. Dots are available free of charge in the hotel lobby.

With more than 50,000 circular stickers available, the project will turn the hotel lobby's windows into a one part mosaic, one part stained-glass, and one part abstract expressionist masterpiece.

The First Friday event also offers hors d’oeuvres and drink specials at the Formosa bar. In addition, local musicians Alan Swanson, Henry Finch, and Sean McGivern will perform.
