The computer programming competition is for high school students

The University of Iowa Department of Computer Science will host the 2012 Hawkeye Challenge Programming Competition for high school students from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 28, in MacLean Hall on the UI campus. The event is organized by the student chapter of the UI Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).

High school students from across the state are expected to compete in a competition in which participants in two divisions receive computer programming questions and a fixed amount of time to answer them in a programming language of their choice. The first three teams of each division will be recognized at an awards ceremony; students will be competing for prizes, which include Xbox 360 games. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
