The UI’s annual Latin dance party Gusto Latino will be held Friday, April 20, from 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the Iowa Memorial Union Second Floor Ballroom. The event is open to the public, and tickets are available at the door. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children, and free for students with a university ID.

This year’s activities include Latin dancing lessons, a dance contest, live musical performances by Salsa Vibe, and a DJ mixing Latin beats with hip-hop and pop music from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Gusto Latino has been an annual event at the UI for more than two decades. It brings together a wide range of students and community members of diverse backgrounds to interact through music, dance, and conversation.

Support for this event comes from the Global Village living-learning community, UI International Programs, Late Night at Iowa, a Coca-Cola grant, the Center for Diversity and Enrichment in the UI Chief Diversity Office, and Advantage Iowa.
