The Hamilton Case subject of April 17 discussion
Wednesday, April 11, 2012

Listen to a live Internet stream at www.writinguniversity.org when Paul's Book Club discusses The Hamilton Case at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, in Prairie Lights Books. The website is the Internet home of the University of Iowa's Virtual Writing University.

Michelle de Kretser's novel features the linked lives of a flamboyant beauty who once partied with the Prince of Wales and who now, in her seventh decade, has "gone native" in a Ceylonese jungle; a proud, Oxford-educated lawyer who unwittingly seals his own professional fate when he dares to solve the sensational Hamilton murder case that has rocked the upper echelons of local society; and a young woman who retreats from her family and the world after her infant brother is found suffocated in his crib.

These lives are portrayed in a novel hailed for its dazzling grace and savage wit. Paul Ingram of Prairie Lights has loved this novel from the outset so he is prepared for a highly enthusiastic discussion.

Following the live stream, the discussion will be archived on the UI site for future listening.
