Concerts at Minnesota, Lawrence, and Wisconsin to follow I.C. show

The University of Iowa Center for New Music (CNM) Ensemble will launch a spring tour with a free concert at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 19, in Riverside Recital Hall. Through the weekend the ensemble will perform at the University of Minnesota, Lawrence University, and the University of Wisconsin.

The concert will feature Hiking the Cascade Trail (2012) and the premiere of Mirage of the Mountains (2012) by School of Music graduate student Zach Zubow, Croquis for string trio (1976-80) by Jeremy Dale Roberts, Musica segreta for piano quartet (1996) by CNM director David Gompper, and the Chamber Symphony (1992) by John Adams.

Featured performers include percussionist Andrew Thierauf; and faculty members violinist Katie Wolfe, violist Elizabeth Oakes, cellist Hannah Holman, and pianist Gompper.
